Soft-cover copy of the “Ink Witch Companion,” a guidebook made for the Ink Witch Tarot Deck. It measures 5.25x8.25 inches, and is 207 pages long. It is a useful guide for beginners who are new to tarot, or long time readers who wish to have a more in-depth understanding of the Ink Witch Tarot Deck
This book includes an introduction explaining the creation of the Ink Witch Deck and subsequent guidebook, an explanation of how the deck is organized, tips for how to read the deck including a few spreads for beginners, and an in depth-glossary of each card in the deck including pictures.
The book includes a table of contents to make looking up specific cards by page number. Descriptions of each card are also accompanied by an image of said card, always on the right-side page, making it easy to locate them simply by flipping through book until you see the card you’re looking for.
The descriptions of each card include keywords for both upright and reversed meanings, as well as thorough written descriptions of the cards’ traditional meanings. Each card entry also explains the artwork specific to the Ink Witch Deck where relevant, giving extra insights and meaning to each card by helping readers to understand the unique imagery of the Ink Witch deck. Some cards reference specific myths, legends, pieces of artwork, and historical figures; and the glossary of cards will explain how and why these images were chosen and portrayed in the deck; for example, The Goddess Idun on the 10 of Pentacles, The Lady of the Lake on the Ace of Swords, or Bernie Boston’s ‘Flower Power,’ on the Strength Card.
Also included in the Ink Witch Companion, is a section regarding ten additional cards featuring alternate artwork released separately from the base Ink Witch Deck as “The Ink Witch Extension.” The guidebook will explain in detail the reasons behind the decision to create these cards, and help you to understand the new artwork on them.
